First reports are in from my Beta Readers with a gratifying thumbs up for the plot and the finish.
I’m really excited to get this one out into the world – I wrote the epilogue a couple of years ago, even before I began writing this final instalment, it was such a beautiful way to wrap things up. I can’t wait to hear what you all think of it!

And on the home front, the building work has been progressing in fits and starts – the national shortage of building materials is an ongoing irritation. We had a long wait for the roof trusses, and now we are waiting for the roof tiles. Unfortunately, due to the shallow pitch of the roof required to achieve the width of building I wanted, we need specialist concrete tiles that will, apparently, simulate genuine slate to match the rest of the roof.

The addition is beautiful! Congratulations!

So excited about The Prince’s Heir, Debby! Big congratulations! And I the addition is looking GREAT! I know you’ll love it when it gets finished. And it WILL get finished, even though it might seem like a never-ending project. Then, you’ll be able to enjoy it, and know it was worth every minute of the time and trouble (and money!) involved. Nice going!! 🤗💗

I am so looking forward to it getting done – it’s 6 months behind schedule!

Everything in my life is at LEAST that. Some things go clear back to 2020, from the start of the pandemic. GAH. And now, like you, such a shortage of things we need, and horrible prices on the stuff we can find. I try not to dwell on it, since I can’t fix it. But I really, REALLY sympathize with you. I’d be so eager to have that addition finished and ready to use. Hang in there, my friend. When you feel like screaming, just gaze out your window. That view is bound to lift your spirits! 💖💖💖

I’m burying my head regarding price rises. I’ve been warned it’ll be a fair bit more than the original estimate. 😦
But as you say, I can always stare at the view<3

Deb, what a beautiful location with a sea view. So glad your supplies are finally coming in. Covid is affecting everything! My husband’s gravestone is still in delay because of Covid. It’s madness! And congrats on the completion of your beautiful book. Looking forward to having you over to showcase! ❤

It really is the most beautiful place, with fantastic views all round ❤
Covid delays over here have also been compounded by Brexit – Europe is really determined to make us pay, it's so petty!

Too true, Darlene, and thank you. I’ve never completed a series before, and it feels pretty weird!

It must be hard to say goodbye to the characters. xo

It is, I’ve worked with them for so long!
On the other hand, they may be lurking in the background of further books, as the next set is all about their children…

Your house progress is amazing. One more month–hopefully. And congrats on your latest book. I have no doubt it will be worthy of the series.

I have my preorder in, Deborah. Can’t wait to finish off the series. And nice to see the addition for the dogs coming along. We’re having the same material shortages here in the US. It’s aggravating, but you’ll get there. 🙂

Thanks Diana, I’m looking forward to hearing what you think of it! And our roof tiles finally arrived this week (yay!), but now it’s snowing, so heaven only knows when it will be safe for the guys to get up there to put them on!

Snow? Well, I hope there’s a period of time that they can at least finish the roof. And I’m looking forward to the read!

I do live in the Highlands….
But actually its a large swathe of the country – Storm Arwen swept through night before last, 100mph winds with snow. Trees down everywhere, many people still without power after nearly 48 hours. Not great when it’s this cold.

That doesn’t sound good. I hope repairs happen quickly. That kind of cold is deadly.

Yes, indeed. Forecast is for -10 tonight (it’s nearly there now), but warming up from tomorrow onward, thank goodness.
