I mentioned BookLinker in my recent post on adding Amazon categories to your books, but finding categories is not the only thing Booklinker does – and it’s FREE to use.
After publishing that post, its designer, Richard Hellewell, contacted me to tell me about new tools available on the site, so here’s a bit more info.
BookLinker tools:
Create a universal book link with no setup or registration
- Create a universal book link with no setup or registration (Clicking on that link will take you to your country’s Amazon store for that book, check the report to see which countries get the most clicks, and add your Amazon affiliate details for more income.)
- Use the CATFINDER tool I talked about in the previous post, to check out what categories any book is in, simply by putting in the book’s ASIN
- The CATFINDER tool will also show you book sales rankings in categories: research the ‘Top 100’ and ‘New Releases’ in each category to see the book covers of these best sellers
- CATFINDER results now also link to the new CATALIZE tool. This goes to the Top 100 for a category, and grabs the categories used by the Top 25 books in that list. That will let you see the most popular categories used by those Top 100 books to help you determine the best categories for your books.
Yes, that last one is a bit info dense, but if you really want to analyse the best selling book categories and apply that knowledge to your own books and adverts – invaluable!
And best of all – it’s FREE!
Check it out, folks, and let me know if you find categories your books might fit into that you knew nothing about – I know I did.
Thanks for such a detailed, helpful post, Debby! I’ve bookmarked this for future reference. Definitely going to check it out as soon as I find a moment. 🙂 ❤

Ah, it’s that challenge to ‘find a moment’ I know all too well… 😉

I’m pretty sure it’s officially known as “The Writer’s Lament.” We should have t-shirts made. 😀

Deb, fab post. I did get a little lost though with Catlinker, I didn’t see a link, lol. I’ve been using smarturl.it for years for my book’s universal links. Is Catlnker part of Booklinker? x

No, it’s just another alternative, totally independent from the ones we’ve been using for years. I won’t be changing, but it’s a new resource for newer authors if they want to use it.
