Firstly, I wish you a wonderful holiday season, whatever you are celebrating!

I will be celebrating Christmas with my family in the south of the UK, and Hogmanay (the wonderful Scottish New Year celebration) up in the Highlands – where else?

This week (on my birthday) I made my annual TV appearance…

working as what is now termed, an ‘eScribe’, inputting the dressage judge’s comments and marks at the London Olympia Horse Show, the UK leg of the World Cup qualifiers.

Just look at that level of concentration on my face! It’s a whole new level this year, having done away with the paper backup and the manual scorers – lots of pressure, with the instruction to ‘get those scores in before the horse leaves the arena’.

Still, it was a fabulous front row seat, on the odd occasion I get a moment to watch anything!

Boy, that guy has the most amazing connection with his horses!
