This is a very strong and original epic fantasy story. The make-believe world is well constructed, and the characters have depth and complexity. Excellent writing!

And THANK YOU to the author by making this a complete story, and not leaving us dangling in mid-air. Other authors should learn from you. Because I enjoyed this story, I bought the next one in the series. It’s not necessary to write a cliff-hanger to get people invested in a series.

A reader after my own heart 🙂

  1. Great review, Debby, and well-earned, too! And I agree whole-heartedly about cliffhangers. It’s fine to set up the next book, but all the “battles” of the first one should be solved by the end, even if you let the readers know there will be more problems/adventures coming in the next. I’ve read books that ended DURING a death match!! With NO clue to who survived and who didn’t. And then I’m supposed to wait a YEAR or more to find out what happened? I don’t think so.

So good on you for giving readers a well-rounded tale, with the ends of the central issue tied up nicely, and THEN a hint of what might be coming next. PERFECT! It will be nice to see what this reviewer thinks when he’s read The Prince’s Son. Bet he loves it!

    1. Thanks Marcia, I find so many like-minded people I can’t for the life of me understand why ANY writer thinks it’s legitimate to end on a cliffhanger, unless they are releasing a serialised novel.
Hadn’t even thought as far ahead as this reader’s review of Prince’s Son – how exciting!

  2. Yay Deb! Share away! Wonderful review!!! ❤

    1. Thank you, as we’ve all said, its getting these sort of reviews that makes it all worthwhile :D:D

      1. That’s a fact! 🙂
