#BookReview – THE ANGEL OF DEATH (Soul Summoner book 3) by Elicia Hyder #ParanormalRomance #AugustReviews

This is the third book in the Soul Summoner series, and you can see my 5 star reviews for the previous books here and here.

This is also my final contribution to the #AugustReviews meme – a great idea!

The Angel of Death (The Soul Summoner, #3)The Angel of Death by Elicia Hyder
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sloan Jordan is pregnant, and that’s only one of her problems. Warren, the baby’s father, is on active service and can’t be reached. Sloan still can’t shake her attraction to Nathan, there’s a crazy woman with Sloan’s name carved into her flesh on the loose, weird and disturbing dreams suddenly gain substance they have no right possessing, and the FBI want her for questioning.
When Warren’s father unexpectedly turns up, things go from weird to insane, for Azrael is the archangel of death…
This third instalment of the Soul Summoner series ramps up the supernatural content exponentially. I was delighted to discover that all the explanations – the how, why and what – of this world made sense, delivered in manageable bites and in plain language – no pretentions here.
I did find one section rather slow – the getting to know Nathan’s extended family felt very cozy, but many of the admittedly delightfully described scenes did little to move the plot forward. That aside, once the action got going the pace raced ahead and the final battle was awesome. Sloan having developed some powers of her own added much to her strength as a character, and the guys were all thoroughly well depicted – manly with a touch of vulnerability, and way too much testosterone!
As before, there is a highly satisfactory conclusion to the story arc of this individual book, but it also leaves us with an almighty cliff hanger leading on to the next. Can’t wait!
Note – I received an ARC (advanced reader copy) in return for an unbiased review – all opinions are my own.
