- I write fiction as Deborah Jay, and non-fiction under my real name of Debby Lush
- I live in the UK, on the south coast much of the time but I also have a lovely house in the Scottish Highlands
- I train competition dressage horses and riders for a living

- Heights – although I enjoy flying
- Walking alone in the dark – my imagination is way too fertile
- Fire – I reckon I was burned at the stake in a former life

- My car – I do way too much driving, but it enables me to earn a living.
- My Jack Russel, Frodo. who travels everywhere with me.

- Reading

- Veterinary medicine – glad now that I didn’t make it; not enough free time for writing
- Teacher – doing that, though not quite how I’d envisaged it
- Actress – I’ve always been a performer at heart
