The Accidental Demon Slayer by Angie Fox
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I loved this one 🙂
From the moment we meet sassy Lizzie – who thinks she has her ordinary life perfectly arranged – we hardly have a moment to draw breath.
First, her 70 year old grandmother arrives on her Harley, just ahead of the demon who manifests in Lizzie’s bathroom.
Then they’re on a wild escape ride, along with Lizzie’s wonderful talking Jack Russell terrier (this author clearly has terriers – if my Russell could talk he’d be just like Pirate), and getting rescued by a griffin who turns into the hot, hot, hot, Dimitri.
Then there’s grandma’s elderly hippy coven, the Red Skulls, and their grungy spells (not to mention their appalling diets!), and a be-spelled old riverboat. Oh, and some werewolves along the way.
Add in Lizzie’s insecurities, and the fact that she’s had no training in her inherited demon slaying skills, and you have a novel that’s fun and fast-moving all the way.
